I think anyone who knows Taylor Swift’s favorite number is 13 knew she’d be announcing something after she won her thirteenth Grammy during last weekend’s Grammy Awards, although many were expecting a different announcement.
Her fans have been patiently awaiting the announcement of her re-recorded “Reputation” album, but during her acceptance speech for best pop vocal album for “Midnights” she said, “I want to say thank you to the members of the Recording Academy for voting this way, but I know that the way that the Recording Academy voted is a direct reflection of the passion of the fans. So I want to say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret that I have been keeping from you for the last two years, which is that my brand-new album comes out April 19th. It’s called ‘The Tortured Poets Department.’ I’m going to go and post the cover right now backstage. Thank you, I love you! Thank you!”
Fans can now pre-order the album in vinyl, cassette, and CD formats. The album will consist of 16 songs with a bonus song called “The Manuscript” on the vinyl, cassette, and CD editions. The track list shows that Post Malone and Florence and the Machine will be featured artists.
