My favorite city is already setting up the pumpkin patch and it’s currently early August so I’m sure Solstice Springs, known as Halloween Town, would approve! I gave the book 3 out of 5 stars.

I still consider it to be Halloween when there’s a chill in the air and so does Wren apparently. The main character doesn’t believe the town is haunted and that was completely unexpected in a book advertised as being Halloween all year round. I thought Wren was going to be a witch. It felt more like a fun romance that just happened to be set in a Halloween filled town.

I liked the chapters that were about the ghosts following Wren and Dane’s relationship. Is it weird that I wish this book was actually set in October? I wanted a more chilly Halloween, but lounging in the lake while watching horror movies sounded fun.

The steamy scenes were steamy. I liked Wren and Dane’s chemistry. I thought it was funny how the ghost Silas is still stuck in the olden days and thinks a young woman shouldn’t be with a man without a chaperone.

I found myself wanting more background for Wren and for Dane. They’re both going through things that were from their pasts and I wanted a little more backstory.

I think this was a good summer read and a fun easy read to get through. I thought there would be more Halloween themes tied to Wren and her story. I liked Dane’s realization at the end and that he chose what was right for him in the moment.

It was all very fun even though I thought there would be more paranormal elements.
