New Podcast: ‘Back to the Beach With Kristin and Stephen’

Dust off your Hollister shirt, faded jean mini-skirt and Ugg boots, I’m ready to go back, back to the beginning and back to Laguna! Join Kristin Cavallari and Stephen Colletti in their new podcast, Back to the Beach With Kristin and Stephen as they take a trip down memory lane. They’ll be rewatching episodes of Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County and discussing the real drama and what was made for TV.

Originally airing September 28, 2004, Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County followed the lives of Kristin, Stephen, Lauren Conrad who is better known as LC, and their friends while navigating life through the last few years of high school, parties, and prom with the backdrop of the beautiful beach town Laguna Beach, California.

I’m interested to hear what they have to say. There have been some instances in the last few years where cast members like LC and Kristin have said how certain aspects of the show were made up and edited in a certain way to make it look like stuff happened when it really didn’t. In Kristin’s interview on Good Morning America on July 11, 2022, she discussed a little bit about how her footage on the show was edited in a way that didn’t tell the whole story.

When she talked to Variety, Kristin said, “eighteen years later and we’re finally ready to revisit, Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County. Stephen and I can’t wait to take listeners behind the scenes of what really went down, how it impacted us, and to relive those high-school days—the good, the bad, and the ugly.”

Here’s what Stephen had to say in a separate statement, “I haven’t seen the series since the show aired and look forward to unpacking a treasure trove of anecdotes for our audience. Kristin brings the heat and I’ll try to keep up…Some things never change.”

Special guests will include original Laguna Beach cast members and some celebrity guests. The first episode will be available wherever you listen to podcasts on July 19!
